Tony Covena had a weekend with challenges. During qualifying he was hit by another rider and therefore he had a few problems with movement because of pain in his arm, wrist and ribs. Having to start on 18th spot on the grid the Dutchmen started of well but was forced to go straight after 2 laps at the first corner. Covena ended his race on a 30th place.
Tony Covena: "It was a tough match, but fortunately I did not suffer as much from the injuries from the crash yesterday. Unfortunately, I did make a small mistake in the first corner and therefore I got off the track and even came up in the gravel. It took a while to come out again and then my race was almost over, even though I kept pushing until the end. It was a tough weekend because I never liked the good feeling that you need to Portimao. Very sorry, but Misano is the next race. "
